Project Description
A special feature of this state-of-the-art building is the translucent, undulating glass facade featuring Lamberts® low-iron channel glass. The Solar™ textured glass is tempered, colored using a translucent white frit, and insulated with translucent fiberglass inserts.
Designed by Ian Ritchie Architects, known for pioneering architectural designs, the undulating glass facade evokes brain waves. On the interior, the glass functions as a writable (dry-erase) surface for scientists. The high-performance envelope achieves a U-value of 0.14 thanks to a special channel glass configuration allowing the insertion of an extra-thick, double layer of insulation. Offering combined thermal performance and daylighting, the channel glass diffuses natural white light, enhancing the well-being and comfort of occupants. As an added eco benefit, The Solar™ textured channel glass is Bird-Smart certified by the American Bird Conservancy.
