Cooke School & Institute

The Cooke School & Institute in East Harlem includes over 1,000 square feet of our Lamberts® channel glass, featuring privacy-friendly “504 Rough Cast” surface texture, Low-E coating, and thermal insulation inserts. It is tempered safety, 100% heat soak tested, and bird friendly. It transmits approximately 40% of diffused daylight into the interior. Installed in our thermally broken SF-60 double-glazed frames, the channel glass creates an energy efficient exterior wall with minimum aluminum framing. The unique frame design eliminates weak points in the envelope and enables the creation of the long uninterrupted glass wall, including several glass-to-glass corners.

The channel glass forms a translucent white ribbon on the ground floor, providing the highest level of visual and acoustic privacy for the administrative offices at street level. It also discreetly complements the striking geometric facade above. Its daytime aesthetic coordinates with the palest off-white shades of the terracotta rainscreen overhead. At night, it casts a soft glow, illuminating the sidewalk and main entrance.
