Project Description
Bendheim’s 504 Rough Cast textured channel glass clads the structural columns throughout the ASU Orange Mall student esplanade. At night, the light-diffusing glass transforms the columns into functional light fixtures: color-changing LEDs illuminate the outdoor space through the glass and infuse it with energy. Here, the channel glass reaches spans of 20 feet. It is captured top-and-bottom in our single-glazed SF-60S system, creating beautiful glass-to-glass corners. An occasional opaque metal channel sits alongside the glass channels in the same frame. It matches the color of the glass frame. The channel glass is sustainably produced by Glasfabrik Lamberts in an oxygen-and-gas-fired furnace, with low carbon footprint and up to 40% post-consumer recycled content. It is bird-friendly.
