Project Description
Two different Bendheim channel glass textures are set in our SF-60 frame system in seperate buildings of a winery. Single glazed 504 Rough Cast, low-iron channel glass in the Vat room provides protection from the elements. Double-glazed Solar channel glass walls, windows and transoms around the building provide natural light for a well-lit working environment. The channel glass systems played an essential role in the building’s LEED Gold certification.
Testimonials
From the Architect
“We wanted to provide as much natural light as possible to the production building to minimize the use of artificial light during working hours. Bendheim’s channel glass gave us the flexibility of achieving this by allowing us to have big clear spans without intermediate frames or supports. Low iron channel glass gave us the perfect neutral tone that tied the natural earthly colors of the building... It also provided us with a great insulation value, especially on the south elevation, where the wine tanks are exposed to the sunlight. On the hospitality building, it gave us the effect that we were looking for, a continuous floating roof, thanks to the frameless vertical assembly.” — Juancarlos Fernandez, Designing Architect at Lail Design Group
