Silver Lake Branch Library

Project Description

Bendheim’s channel glass wall systems, covering the majority of the facade, deliver energy performance and a striking visual quality, establishing the library as a prominent community landmark. The high-performance glass curtainwall achieves the architects’ goal of creating a cutting-edge, sustainable building with a major civic impact. A combination of Low-E and Azur thermal performance coatings and insulation inserts allows the glass walls to reach the desired 0.17 calculated U-value. Alternating the obscuring 504 Rough Cast and vision-friendly Clarissimo channel glass textures provides the perfect balance of privacy and daylight.

The Platinum LEED certified project features 40% post-consumer recycled channel glass and 100% post- and pre-consumer recycled insulation material. The glass is installed in our thermally-broken, double-glazed SF-60 frame system. The project demonstrates how thermally-enhanced channel glass walls can deliver exceptional energy performance, daylight, and outstanding design.
