Pratt Institute | Higgins Hall School of Architecture

Project Description

Bridging the gap between two preexisting brick buildings, double-glazed, 504 Rough Cast channel glass is used to create exterior walls for this school hall. The glowing glass portion of the building adds a touch of modernity amidst the surrounding brick buildings and foreground. Set in the SF-60 frame system, the glass utilizes Okapane thermal insulating material to enhance the thermal performance of the glass. The textured glass surface, along with the insulating material, obscures views and provides privacy for those inside as well as making the building glow like a lantern at night.
