What is a trombe wall?
A trombe wall is a passive solar design element. Trombe walls are built on the winter sun side of the building and consist of an external glass layer, standing off at some distance from a heat-absorbing internal wall. The glass allows sunlight through, while the wall behind it – which is typically designed in a dark, heat-absorbing color – passively collects the incident solar heat and radiates it into the interior.
