What is the best thermal performance achievable with channel glass walls?
Using Low-e coating on surface #3, SHGC coating (our Azur coating) on surface #2, and a thermal insulation material (TIM) in the cavity of a double-glazed channel glass wall can deliver the highest thermal performance. This combination was used on Silver Lake Branch Library in Los Angeles, CA, where it achieved a calculated U-Value of 0.13, SHGC below 0.30, and approx. 33% visible light transmission (VLT).
