How do Bendheim glass rainscreen systems prevent water infiltration?
The following three elements must be present to create a water leak in the building envelope:
1. water (rain, melting snow and ice);
2. an opening or a weak point in the building envelope, through which water can penetrate; and
3. pressure (wind force)
Bendheim glass rainscreen systems are drained and back-ventilated or pressure-equalized, creating a barrier envelope around the building to minimize or prevent water infiltration.
All systems recommended for exterior application, including Wall-F, Wall-H, and Wall-VH, were rigorously tested in accordance with ASTM & AAMA requirements for Water Penetration, Pressure Equalization, Air Leakage, and Structural Performance. All systems performed admirably, and received the best rating for prevention of water penetration
