Zegna 5th Avenue Flagship Store

Project Description

Bendheim provided safety-laminated, linear patterned glass for the the central staircase of the award-winning Ermenegildo Zegna Flagship store at 663 Fifth Avenue, New York City. The soft geometry of the glass gives a sense of movement to the nature themed mural behind it. The vertical pattern of the glass draws customers upward to explore the storeโ€™s upper floors. Bendheimโ€™s careful attention to the pronounced linear glass patterns, through the precise engineering and manufacture of individual glass sections, creates a seamless transition between adjacent units.

Ermenegildo Zegnaโ€™s new global store concept, designed by renowned architect Peter Marino, combines the best of traditional and contemporary design. Inspired by Ermenegildo Zegnaโ€™s woven-goods history and its wool mills in the Italian Alps, the architectโ€™s design for the 9,200-sq.-ft. store bears resemblance to a loom in action. According to Peter Marino, โ€œThe patterned glass combined with the nature mural and lenticular film behind it creates an additional woven element to the store.โ€
