Project Description
The NYU Langone Health Center by Perkins+Will is one of a series of outpatient facilities dedicated to men’s healthcare. Bendheim’s Ultra-White Fade® Laminated Glass is a key design element. This elegant glass has the unrivaled ability to deliver the desired ratio of openness to opacity, providing patients the precise level of privacy they require. Our Fade glass features prominently in office walls and doors throughout the 15,000-square-foot space. It presents a superior fade effect, produced through a unique interlayer technology. The durable, maintenance-friendly laminated glass meets safety building codes, while enhancing the acoustic performance with 4 additional STC points. The fade effect can be fully customized.
The selectively obscuring glass separates the patient waiting areas from the clinical corridors. Ultra-dense and fully obscuring towards the floor, the glass smoothly fades to clear as it reaches the ceiling, presenting daylighting advantages while elevating the interior with its timeless, sophisticated aesthetic. The award-winning design, which seamlessly blends a variety of refined elements – natural wood, pop-of-color accents, abstract artwork, and the Bendheim glass – minimizes the clinical feel of the space, enhancing occupant comfort. The design team drew inspiration from country clubs and VIP lounges to conceive a stylish cross between medical facility and corporate office that feels tailored, masculine, and reassuring.
