Bendheim Wall Systems, Inc. now offers Lamberts channel glass in a Pantone-like palette of enamel colors. Enameled channel glass expands the design possibilities for architects and designers, allowing the creation of maintenance-free color filled facades, storefronts, and interior partitions.
Unlike paint applied to glass surfaces, enamel colors deliver weather- and scratch-resistant hues that will not crack or peel. Enamels are colored glass powders applied and fused under high temperatures into the glass channel during the tempering process. The enamel becomes an integral part of the glass, resulting in permanently colored, tempered safety channel glass. Lamberts’ is the only channel glass independently certified by the Safety Glazing Certification Council (SGCC) as ANSI Z97.1-1984 and CPSC 16 CFR 1201 compliant.
Beyond safety, longevity, and maintenance benefits, the expansive color palette of enameled Lamberts channel glass allows design professionals to bring corporate or brand colors into their design. Lamberts colored channel glass can differentiate among departments in offices, healthcare, educational, hospitality, and sporting facilities as well as create entire facades of colored glass.
Translucent white enameled channel glass can also be an extremely effective replacement for sandblasted glass in single glazed applications, such as parking facades. It replicates the frosted appearance of sandblast without the long term weathering or staining problems associated with exposed sandblasted glass surfaces. On interior applications, it prevents the nuisance of fingerprints.
In addition to regular Lamberts channel glass, Bendheim Wall Systems now offers a new, ultra-clear low-iron channel glass in the entire palette of opaque and translucent enamel colors, creating extra-vibrant hues.
Lamberts regular channel glass contains up to 40% post-consumer and 20% pre-consumer recycled content. The glass is manufactured in Lamberts’ environmentally friendly, oxygen-fuel-fired furnace, the only one of its kind in Europe.
