Bendheim is the proud winner of the 2014 Architectural Record Products Competition in the Furnishings Category, as well as the recipient of Architectural Products’ Product Innovation Award (PIA) in the Architectural Surfaces Category, for its Magnetic Glass Marker Boards.
The awards honor innovation in the development and refinement of buildings-related products, ranging from exterior cladding systems to interior finishes. Jurors rated the entries on several criteria: innovation, functionality, and aesthetics.
Architectural Record’s annual competition drew more than 500 entries, ranging from building materials to finishes and furnishings. The products were collectively judged by a panel of six professionals from leading architectural firms. Bendheim’s Magnetic Glass Marker Boards stood out for their unique ability to answer all of today’s office collaboration needs. The exceptionally strong magnetic surfaces hold notes, fabric swatches, and color chip samples; the projection-friendly option accommodates a variety of digital multimedia; and the maintenance-friendly writable surfaces allow for easy sharing of ideas.
The panel judging Architectural Products’ PIA award contenders comprised more than 50 industry professionals, including architects, interior designers, lighting designers, and veteran A/E/C writers. The judges liked “the high/low-tech quality of the product.” They further emphasized how its “strong magnetism and the ability to support digital projections make it a real multi-tasking surface material.”
With the recently added projection-friendly glass option, Bendheim’s Magnetic Glass Marker Boards combine the finest quality material with the highest level of functionality. Whether used for jotting down and organizing brainstormed ideas, pinning design clippings and samples, or projecting digital presentations, the dual-sided glass boards serve as ideal writable wall claddings or opaque glass partitions in schools and universities, libraries, offices, conference rooms, homes, bars, and restaurants.
What sets Bendheim’s Magnetic Glass Marker Boards apart, above all, is their exceptionally strong magnetic action, as featured in this brief video demonstration: www.youtube.com/watch?v=OGZK1QXsTYM.
The durable marker boards provide the benefit of exceptionally maintenance-friendly glass. Standard dry-erase markers and erasers make cleanup easy, without ghosting or permanent staining. Even permanent markers and graffiti can be removed without a trace. The naturally hygienic, non-porous glass surfaces easily withstand frequent cleaning, making them ideal for daily use.
Architects and designers seeking additional aesthetic options can specify Bendheim’s Magnetic Glass Marker Boards in a wide range of colors, single- or double-sided formats, and custom graphics.
The Magnetic Glass Marker Boards join three prior Bendheim PIA winners: the PIA’11 winners Optichroic® Laminated Dichroic Glass and Channel Glass Wall Systems, as well as the PIA’13 winner Houdini™ Glass.
The Record Products award winners can be found in the December 2014 issue of Architectural Record. The 2014 PIA winners are featured in the November issue of Architectural Products magazine.
